Plate Search Navigation

Leveraging the same data as Vehicle Search in a more siloed view, the Plate Search product also provides robust license plate scan data, utilizing plate search information to display all locations that a plate has been scanned at within the last year.

From the DRNsights Plus home page, select Plate Search.

The Plate Search home page displays a list of accounts in chronological order based on the most recent scan date. For a full list of customizable columns, see Vehicle Search.

To begin:

  1. Select Plate Search under the Product column. The record for the selected vehicle displays.
  2. The vehicle’s year, make and model will display at the top of the page. You will also see the license plate, VIN if known, and total number of sightings.
  3. Record Type shows the search criteria provided, including plate and state, VIN, SSN and other identifiers.

The Summary window uses Google Earth and Google Maps for scan locations. Maps are overlaid with icons denoting certain details for a record. For more information on map icons, see Vehicle Search.

Clicking on the image hits below the map (displayed in screenshot) will focus the map on where that scan took place.

If the map image scan does not display the correct vehicle, you can select Wrong Vehicle, along with the confirmation page that follows. You can also add an address on the map image scan. Selecting Show Sightings Detail will display longitude, latitude, and agent information. Select Hide Sightings Detail to remove this information.
